Welcome to Humor Nation. Innovation is seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought. It is something that every company requires in order to ace the rat race in this developing world. Innovation is change that unlocks new value and Indian companies, by all means, know what success tastes like.
Forbes recently came out with the list of top innovative companies and I feel immense pride in sharing that 3 Indian companies have made it to the list.
Wondering which Indian companies might have? Well, without any further delay, lets talk about them-
Well, these companies are Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints and Bharti Airtel. According to Forbes, the basic criteria behind ranking the companies is by their innovation premium i.e. the difference between their market capitalization and the net present value of cashflows.
Hindustan Unilever has moved up the list by being on 31st rank in 2017 to being on the 7th rank in 2018 with an innovation of 68.59%. On the other hand, Asian Paints is ranked 8th this year (68.28%). Bharti Airtel has entered the list at the 78th position (41.4%).
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was on the list in 2016 but failed to make the cut this year. Apart from that, Sun Pharma and Toubro also didn’t make it. This brought down the total numer of Indian firms from five to three.
To make it to the list, companies need to have 7 years worth of financial data and $10 billion in market capital. Investors gave their inputs as well, as to which companies they think might to well in terms of ‘innovation’.
Let’s take a look at the top 10 companies in terms of innovation enlisted by Forbes:
The company that has topped the list is Salesforce.com which has replaced Telsa Motors in the top position.
Other companies that have made it to the list are Adobe Systems, Mariott International, Cocoa-Cola, Pepsico, Mastercard, Colgate, etc.
