The Vampire Diaries is a TV series which is based on the popular book series of the same name. The series became a huge hit when it first aired on CW in 2009. The series ran for eight successful seasons and it concluded in 2017. The Vampire Diaries aired at a time when Twilight was a sensation and vampire genre found a resurgence. The story revolves around a girl named Elena who finds herself between two Salvatore brothers. Elena tries to live a normal human life, but it becomes impossible after she finds herself immersed in a supernatural world.
2. The Strain
The Strain is a horror drama which premiered on FX in 2014 and concluded in 2017. The show was based on the popular novel trilogy written by Guillermo Del Toro. The show focuses on Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, head of CDC, who is asked to investigated a strange airplane landing. All the passengers on board are declared dead upon investigation, but it turns out that they are infected with a strain of vampirism. Now Dr. Ephraim and his team must fight this new evil.

If you enjoyed The Vampire Diaries then you will surely True Blood which is a more adult and erotic version of TVD. The show aired on HBO in 2008 and ran successfully for seven seasons after concluding in 2014. The show is set in a near future, a time when the vampires and humans live together all thanks to the synthetic blood invention known as ‘True Blood’ which allows vampires to survive without hunting the humans. The vampires call for equal rights while the anti vampire organizations threaten the vampires’ rights. A telepathic waitress named Sookie Stackhouse finds herself in the midst of this struggle.
