The reason why Julie Plec didn’t kill Klaus in TVD Season 3 is to evolve the story of the Originals. She believed there was a lot to tell about the Mikaelson Family, explore the stories of Kol, Rebekah, and Finn. She confessed that killing a character with plenty of stories and potential is a big mistake. Even Morgan has told Plec that he doesn’t want to die as there’s so much he can do with the character. Ever Since Originals ended and the spin-off titled ‘Legacies’ was announced, fans has been speculating about the possible appearance of Klaus on Legacies. Fans have been hoping for a short cameo from the Original Vampire for so long. But Joseph Morgan has shut down the door on ever playing the character again. Joseph Morgan revealed that he wanted to have a definite story for Klaus which concluded in a satisfactory manner after he sacrificed himself for Hope. It was the greatest redemption for the character. He feels there’s no need for him to appear as a ghost, flashback, or any sort of cameo because it would only unravel what he has done.
