3. MORE THAN BROTHERS
Their on-screen brotherly relationship is intense and they always had each other’s back. Real life is no different, Jensen and Jared are close to brothers in real life. They would do anything for each other. According to a report, Jared got into a scuffle with a group of men at a bar. Jensen quickly stepped in and had Jared’s back. The duo fought against a group of men. This mirrors the relationship of Sam and Dean. Not just the actors, but their families are also pretty close. Their families would often hang out and spend the vacation together. They lived together long before they were married and had started working for Supernatural. Another interesting fact is that both of these actors have been groomsman at each other’s wedding.
Working on Supernatural is like a big adventure. The actors have always been passionate about the show, it doesn’t feel like a work to them. The only reason the show managed to last this long is because of the passion and commitment of Jared and Jensen. They overlooked every aspect of the show, from the storylines to the props being used. Did you know that Jensen Ackles has directed five episodes of the show. If you have ever seen the show’s bloopers then you’ll see how much of a blast these actors have on the set. There have been a few occasions when the actors improvised their scenes and the camera kept on rolling such as the iconic air guitar of Jensen where he performs Eye of the Tiger.
1. JENSEN AS SAM
Did you know the studio originally considered Jensen Ackles for the role of Sam Winchester, he was up and front in the race. But Jared hit the ball out of the park and ended up bagging the role. The creators loved Ackles auditions and convinced him to take on the role of Dean and when he read the script, he made up his mind to play the character of Dean. Eric Kripke revealed in an interview that they didn’t plan to focus the show on the two brothers. It was the unique chemistry of Jared and Jensen as Sam & Dean that forced them to change the vision of the show. This changed the direction of the show and it became more centered on the themes of family, sacrifice etc.
