Welcome back to Humor Nation. Even though the story of Vampire Diaries centered around Elena Gilbert, it has been told from her perspective. Some argue that it is actually the story of Stefan Salvatore. But despite who the primary protagonists are, characters such as Caroline Forbes, and Klaus Mikaelson have gained an immense following despite not being the titular characters of the show.
So Take A Look At 5 Interesting Facts About Caroline Forbes From Vampire Diaries
5. HER ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS
Caroline Forbes’ romantic relationships are nothing short of complicated and chaotic. At the beginning of the show, she was with Matt Donovan who had broken up with Elena. Caroline soon started with a relationship with Tyler Lockwood which deteriorated when Tyler turned against Klaus while she had a soft corner for the Original Hybrid. Even though she didn’t Damon, both of them were together in Season 1 when Damon used Caroline for his selfish reasons. Caroline has been with Alaric, but she had no romantic feelings for him. She was married to Stefan Salvatore but got widowed. The only character she was not involved in any capacity was Jeremy Gilbert. At one point, it was decided that Caroline would eventually end up with Klaus Mikaelson, but when the writers paired Stefan and Caroline together, it kinda sealed their fates. They couldn’t go back. Plec felt like if Caroline ended up with Klaus then it would be a disservice to the memory of Stefan Salvatore.
4. THE FIRST OF MANY
Caroline Forbes has also been the first to do a couple of things. She became a victim of the compulsion despite consuming Vervain. Caroline is also the first character who tried using vampiric blood to cure a cancer patient. But it didn’t actually work, the blood only accelerated the process. Eventually, she was devastated when her mother Liz passed away due to cancer. She also became the first victim of the Klaus’ sired hybrids (Tyler). But she was cured by Klaus Mikaelson otherwise she wouldn’t have made it. She is also the only Vampire character who became pregnant in the show. If it wasn’t for the Heretics’ magic, she wouldn’t have survived that magic, but she was able to give healthy births to Lizzie and Josie. Also, the first Vampire character in the TVD Universe got married on the screen, and eventually got widowed.
