3. MARCEL & HOPE
It’s been years since we saw Charles Michael Davis as Marcel. Fans have waiting since Season 1 of Legacies to see Marcel make an appearance. He eventually did and it looked like he didn’t miss a beat. There was even mention of Elijah Mikaelson. When Hope points out how silly Marcel looks in the suit, he mentions that it’s actually Elijah’s suit that he’s wearing. Marcel tries a way connecting to Hope who has turned off her humanity. Even though Hope is being annoying and full of anger. She does connect to Marcel at some level. There’s even a callback to the point system that Hope & Marcel used in the Originals, serving us a reminder how strong their connection is.
2. IT IS REAL
When it was announced that this Legacies episode will feature the ‘Originals Reunion’. There were reports which said that this reunion will be more like a dream sequence or it is a flashback. There were many speculations and rumors. But every Originals fan will be happy knowing that this is not some illusion or a figment of Hope’s imagination. It is all real. Hope connects with her family through an astral projection. The very fact that we don’t see Klaus or Elijah in any fashion confirms that the events of this episode are very real. At one point, Rebekah confirms this to the viewers that it’s due to Vincent’s spell that Hope has joined them through astral projection. She is indeed in New Orleans and everything that’s happening is very real.
1. INTERESTING TRIVIA
- Although this episode featured only a selected few characters from the Originals, but it did reference a whole lot of characters. There’s a mention of Freya & Keelin’s son. When Hope mentions him to Freya, she responds saying how she named her son after Nikklaus for a reason because it carries an importance to her.
- We saw in the Originals finale that Rebekah proposed to Marcel and he accepted. We learn in this episode that they are finally married. But Rebekah is still an Original Vampire and hasn’t taken a cure yet to start the family.
- There’s also a mention of Davina. Kol even suggested that him and Davina might visit Hope. This leaves the possibility open for a Davina cameo on Legacies.
