Welcome back to Humor Nation. While we have seen vampires, werewolves and witches in the TVD Universe. All of these species are extremely powerful and unique in their own ways. But we later found out that if two of these supernatural species are cross-bred then it could result in the birth of a Hybrid. Although Klaus Mikaelson is the first Hybrid in the TVD Universe, but later his blood was used to turn hybrids.
Now at first the term hybrid was used in the reference of the individuals who were born as werewolves, but turned into a vampire using the blood of Klaus. But in the later seasons, we got to see other kinds of hybrids such as the siphoner witches who became witch-vampire hybrids. Then there are werewolf-witch hybrids who were born with both the werewolf gene and the witch potential. Klaus is the one werewolf-witch hybrid, however he never tapped into the magic potential.
So Take A Look At 5 Interesting Things About The Hybrids That The Fans Might Not Know
5. HOPE IS THE ONLY TRIBRID
While the law of the nature dictates that one can be either a vampire or a witch. As vampirism is born from the non-traditional magic and it grants immortality which goes against the nature. This the reason why the Originals cannot practise magic after becoming the vampire even if they had tapped into their magic potential before (KOL). So Hope is a tribrid who if dies will wake up in the transition due to the vampire blood in her system becoming activated.
Nature doesn’t allow immortality and magic potential to practice witchcraft, but Hope is a miracle who was created by Nature as a weapon against Malivore. Only when she is an active Tribrid, with all her potential and powers, she can destroy Malivore. So at point, she’ll die and wake up in transition. Ultimately, she’ll become a witch-werewolf-vampire, when she does, her full potential will be unlocked. Now if she loses her ability to practice magic then why would Nature create her in the first place? Nature will allow Hope to eradicate the immortal abomination known as Malivore. So her being Tribrid maintains the balance.
4. HYBRIDS CANNOT PROCREATE, BUT WHY?
Now the non-original hybrids who were born werewolves, but turned into vampire using the blood of Klaus or Hope, would they be able to procreate like Klaus? Well, the answer is NO for two reasons. Klaus being able to procreate was Nature’s loophole, intentionally allowing Hope to come into existence for a grand purpose of defeating the Malivore. Secondly, the loophole that allowed Klaus to procreate has been closed by the witch named Jane-Anne Deveraux. The Originals’ writer Carina MacKenzie suggested the same through a name which states that Jane-Anne closed the loophole, however the line was cut and never made its way into the episode.
