Welcome back to Humor Nation. Klaus Mikaelson had a hard life even before he became the Original Hybrid. He was closed with his half-siblings; Elijah, Rebekah, and Henrik. He also shared a good relationship with Kol. But his strict father Mikael was always hard on im. He suffered mental and physical abuse at the hands of his father. Klaus would try his best to earn his approval and please him, but he always failed. Even his mother Esther didn’t stop Mikael from abusing Klaus. However, she made him wear a magical necklace which suppressed the aggressive behavior of Klaus as he was an untriggered werewolf. But nonetheless, Klaus was full of love and life before all the supernatural events happened.
After becoming an Original Vampire, he became cruel and paranoid. His explosiveness and impulsivity caused him to act in an unpredictable and unreasonable manner. His morality was lost somewhere and he had little to no regard for others’ lives. While he has been ambitious, power-hungry, and vengeful, there have been moments when he showed us the glimpses of his true self. Beneath the mask of paranoia and narcissism, a loving and caring Klaus is still alive.
So Take A Look At 5 Moments When Klaus Wore His Heart On The Sleeve
5. I FAILED YOU MARCELLUS!
Klaus Mikaelson shared a strained and complicated relationship with Marcel. He rescued Marcel from slavery, gave him a name and a home. He taught Marcel everything that he knows, from matters of life to the secrets of vampirism, Marcel always lived in the shadow of Klaus. Things got tensed when they fought for the crown of New Orleans. Even they reconciled, but things again took a turn for worse when Elijah killed Marcel who’d end up becoming an Upgraded Original Vampire. He would keep Klaus in his captivity for 5 years. But in Season 4 finale, Klaus had a heart-to-heart talk with Marcel where he apologized to Marcel for not being a good father. He was surprised how could Marcel and Rebekah love each other so much and still manage to care for him. This moment finally gave Marcel the closure he was looking for.
4. YOU’LL LIVE WITHIN ME FOREVER
One of the saddest moments from Season 3 was the death of Cami. After Lucien’s bite, the Mikaelsons try everything to heal Cami, but no method works. Klaus would comfort the dying Cami by conjuring the night when they first met. He confesses his love for Camille who is scared to die. Klaus reassures that Cami didn’t fail him and he will forever carry her within him. Cami tells Klaus that he’s the one to end the abuse of Mikael and would become a light in the life of Hope. She finds solace in his arms, slowly closes her eyes, and we see Klaus shedding tears in silence.
