Eric Kripke’s Supernatural story arc ended with Season 5 finale episode ‘Swan Song’. Many consider it to be one of the best episodes of the show. Sam agrees to become the vessel of Lucifer as he believes he could take back the control of his mind and body, thus trapping Lucifer. The devil is well aware of their plan and challenges Sam to give it his best shot. Sam tries taking back the control, but he fails. Lucifer had his consciousness trapped and prepares for his battle with Michael. Dean cannot let it happen so he marches to the battlefield in the Impala. Castiel uses a Molotov to dispose off Michael temporarily. An enraged Lucifer starts attacking Dean who isn’t fighting back. Dean asks for Sam to control Lucifer. While hitting Dean against the Impala, Lucifer sees the plastic army man trapped in the Impala door. This forces the consciousness of Sam to surface again as he remembers his lovely memories with Dean. Sam overpowers Lucifer, opens the cage, and jumps inside. Sam sacrifices himself while taking down Lucifer.

Many have forgotten about the character of Lily Sunder. She doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Her character appeared in only two episodes, but her story arc was very well written. Lily becomes the victim of an angel’s wrath who becomes obsessed with her. After losing her daughter, she makes it her life purpose to exact revenge on the angels who wronged her. She takes out Ishim and other angels, but spares Castiel.

In Season 14, the boys reach out to her seeking her help in translating the notes of Kevin Tran to use the Angel Tablet with the hope of brining back Jack. Lily has stopped using magic as Enochian magic consumes her soul every time she uses it. Lily is willing to help the boys if they can get her to heaven so she can reunite with her daughter. But she is told by Anubis that she will go to hell and she can’t do anything to change it. Dean begs for her help, saying nobody should lose their child and go through that pain. Lily completes the ritual which resurrects Jack, but she passes away due to a heart attack. Anubis greets her, telling her that she is now worthy of heaven due to her sacrifice.
