The Originals is the first spin-off of the Vampire Diaries which started airing in 2013 and it’s pretty serious and mature in its tone and storylines as compared to its predecessor. While the show centered around the Mikaelsons and it retained some of the cast members who first appeared on the Vampire Diaries along with several new additions. The story of the show takes place in New Orleans whereas TVD is set in the Mystic Falls. While TVD featured teenage characters, Originals revolves around centuries old vampires who fight to gain the control of the territory of the New Orleans. There’s plenty of politics and strategical warfare in Originals whereas TVD was more of a love story set in the backdrop of Supernatural elements and creatures.

5. WHAT IF KLAUS NEVER RETURNED TO NEW ORLEANS
It was Jane Anne who performed a spell which confirmed the pregnancy of Hayley Marshall. However, it also became the reason of her demise. Katherine Pierce got a word of it and she sent a letter to Klaus revealing that the witches in New Orleans are plotting against him. She did it to move Klaus far away from Mystic Falls. Klaus arrives in New Orleans where he is reunited with his child and sired vampire Marcel. But he couldn’t get any answers as Jane meets a tragic fate at the hands of Marcel. Elijah soon follows his brother to New Orleans where he starts his own investigation and learns the truth about Hayley who is pregnant with the child of Klaus. Elijah persuades Klaus to stay and protect Hayley & the child. But imagine what if Klaus had never returned to New Orleans, if he had not then Elijah wouldn’t have followed him and eventually wouldn’t become aware of Hayley and the child.
4. WHAT IF HOPE DIDN’T TAKE BACK HOLLOW FROM THE MIKAELSONS
Had Originals ended at Season 4 then it would have been a great ending, but the show saw the light of Season 5 and had a bittersweet ending. Originals finale saw Elijah and Klaus meeting their end at the hands of each other. Klaus absorbed all the dark spirit of Hollow from Hope as the spirit was slowly corrupting Hope. He did what any loving father would do. But if you really think about it then you’d find that all this could be avoided if Hope had never taken the pieces of Hollow’s soul from the Mikaelson siblings. In Originals finale, the Mikaelson siblings; Kol, Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus took a piece of Hollow’s soul inside them and they all parted ways. As they cannot be in the close vicinity of each other because it would make the Hollow’s soul corrupt them and cause havoc. Each of them started a new chapter in their lives; Elijah purposely erasing his memories to start fresh, Kol and Davina getting married, Rebekah and Marcel moving in together, and Klaus battling his demons on his own.
