4. ONE OF THE GREATEST WITCHES
Esther Mikaelson is one of the greatest witches in the TVD Universe. She is the responsible for creating Originals who are the progenitors of the race. She is expert in the art of possession, we have seen her possessing different bodies. It was through her grimoires that the coven of witches could reverse-engineer the vampire creation spell which gave birth to the Upgraded Original Vampires. Davina also studied her spells and was able to create a sireline unlinking spell. She was also an expert with the protective magics. She created the daylight and moonlight rings. Esther also created the Indestructible White Oak Stake when she bound the protective of the last known White Oak Stake with the molten metal of Gilbert Ring.
3. MIKAEL AND KLAUS
Mikael is the only person whom Klaus was genuinely terrified of. He spent centuries running from his father. For over s 1000 years, he lived in the state of paranoia due to the fear of Mikael. Klaus shares numerous similarities with his step-father Mikael such as both are cruel, controlling, sadistic, and violent. It was Mikael who named his son Klaus, he didn’t always hate him, he actually believed that his son Klaus would grow up to be a powerful warrior. Even though they both hated each other, but they still saw each other as father and Son.
Klaus once said that Mikael hurt him in a way that only a father could, he’s the only father figure he had always known. Mikael raised Klaus as his son, also protected him by letting him turn into an Original along with his other children, and despite their strained relationship, he addressed Klaus as his son to Davina and Marcel. Even though Klaus tried to hide his real feelings by celebrating the death of his father Mikael. But in his therapy session with Cami, he revealed that he enjoyed his day working with Mikael, he even regretted killing Mikael. Interestingly, Klaus has killed both of his parents twice.
2. MIKAEL IS THE MOST POWERFUL ORIGINAL
Mikael is the most strongest Original vampire. This is due to the fact that he was a Viking warrior before transforming into a vampire. Therefore his strength was amplified due to his pre-existing valor. While we have seen even an Original Vampire is vulnerable to the werewolf bite as we saw Elijah becoming unconscious after two bites whereas Mikael fought a whole lot of wolves and killed them all despite the bites. He was also able to remove Papa Tunde’s blade which was staked inside him. Whereas we have seen Klaus struggled in removing the blade.
1. ALWAYS AND FOREVER
Both Esther and Dahlia belonged to a powerful line of witches and were gifted when it came to the magic. The sisters made the promise of ‘Always and Forever’ that they will never leave each other. When their village was invaded by the Viking warriors and they tried attacking Esther, Dahlia used her magic on them which led to both the sisters being taken captive by the Vikings. While Dahlia took all sorts of abuse to protect Esther, Esther fell in love with Mikael and planned to marry him. She left her sister’s side and broke their promise. She would later return to her sister for help in conceiving children. Esther and Dahlia ultimately made peace in Originals S2 finale when Esther asked for forgiveness from Dahlia and she gladly forgave her. Both died together and found peace.
