Welcome back to Humor Nation. We first heard about the ruthless Klaus Mikaelson from the vampire Rose who warned Elena and the Salvatores about this ancient vampire and his atrocities. Elijah would later give us an insight about the character of Klaus, he trusts very people and doesn’t shy away from any bloodshed to attain his objective. For a long time, he has been trying to break the hybrid curse placed on him by his mother Esther. A Petrova doppelganger is required to break the curse which would unleash his werewolf side.
He came close to breaking the curse when he found Katerina Petrova, but when she came to know about his plans, she ruined his place by converting herself into a vampire and fled away. Klaus would punish her by slaughtering her family and hunting her which resulted in Katherine being on a run for the next 500 years.
So Take A Look At 6 Interesting Things About Klaus Mikaelson That TVD Fans Might Not Know
6. HIS SON MARCEL
Through the flashbacks, we learned that Klaus came across a 10 years old boy who threw an apple at a man who was whipping him. Klaus saw himself in the boy and killed the man who was beating the boy. He named the boy ‘Marcellus’ meaning ‘Little Warrior’ and took him under his protection. Marcel would eventually develop feelings for Rebekah and decided to marry her when he will be a grownup. At first, Klaus dismissed their relationship, but would give Rebekah-Marcel his blessings in 1919.
But Rebekah and Marcel made the mistake of calling Mikael in New Orleans in order to make Klaus run so they could be together. Klaus sees Marcel as his son and felt betrayed when Marcel called Mikael and chose to rule New Orleans rather than being with him. Klaus never wanted to turn Marcel into a vampire and always tried to protect him from the violence. On two occasions, he stated that he failed Marcellus as a father, but Marcel didn’t believe that Klaus failed him.

5. BEING NEUTRALIZED
Throughout his long life, Klaus Mikaelson has been daggered plenty of times, but his werewolf side made him remain unaffected by the Silver White Oak Ash Daggers which would neutralize any other Original vampire easily. However, he has truly neutralized only twice. First, he was daggered by the The Five in 1114. He has been daggered twice by Rebekah, once by Finn, once by Alaric in the Vampire Diaries. The only two times that he was neutralized was once by Elijah in the episode ‘When The Levee Breaks’ where he uses the golden dagger prepared by Kol on Klaus to neutralize him in order to stop him from going after Hayley. The second time he daggered himself with the golden dagger when he was linked with Dahlia in order to take her down. The Gold dagger is the first dagger in the TVD Universe which managed to neutralize Klaus.
