Both Stefan and Damon have dated or been in a romantic relationship, or fling, with the same couple of women, the list includes Elena, Katherine, Caroline, and Rebekah. 2. STUDIOUS
Stefan always had a sharp mind with an efficient memory. In the TVD, we have seen him being able to memorize and recall information, figures, and minute details such as dates with ease. He enjoys reading literature such as the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Shakespeare. We have seen him maintaining his personal journals and diaries, similar to Elijah Mikaelson, keeping a track of history. He wanted to be a doctor and would have become one if things turned out differently. Ironically, Elena ended up becoming a doctor. He has studied at several schools and earned A grades in his subjects.
1. NOVEL VS TV SHOW
Even though the character of Stefan is taken directly from the novels, there are several differences in both versions. Stefan loved Katherine immensely in the books, but in the TV show, it changed after learning about Katherine’s betrayal. In the books, he only loved Elena and Katherine whereas TV introduced Rebekah, Valerie, and Caroline, along with Elena, and Katherine as his love interests. He speaks Italian along with English, but the TV show changed that. Not just language, but his origin has been changed too. Stefan was born in Italy, Stefan had Christian Values, but in the show, he was born in America, and doesn’t seem to be religious. In the novels, his best friend is Matt Honeycutt (Matt Donovan), but in the TV show, it is Lexi. Stefan got married to Caroline Forbes in the TV series, but in novels, he actually began to dislike Caroline after brief dating.
