Did you know that Phoebe Tonkin who played the role of a werewolf in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals also played the role of a witch in the show ‘The Secret Circle’. Whereas Daniel Sharman who played the role of a witch named Kaleb who was possessed by Kol played the role of a werewolf in the famous MTV show Teen Wolf. Another interesting fact is that Phoebe Tonkin has played several supernatural roles in her career. She has played a werewolf, a vampire, a witch, a mermaid, and a hybrid.
3. THE ORIGINALS BOOK SERIES

While TVD is based on the novels of the same name by LJ Smith. Even the character of Klaus Mikaelson is taken from the show. But the show creators took the liberty of writing the backstory for the characters and making some major changes about them. The success and popularity of the infamous Mikaelson Family led to the birth of the Originals. But did you know there’s an Original book series that has been written by Julie Plec which explores the history of the Mikaelson Family in detail and their arrival in the city of New Orleans in 1700s which would become their home.
2. THE METHOD ACTOR JOSEPH

Joseph Morgan has done an impressive job in portraying the mad king Klaus Mikaelson. There’s no one better than him who could have played the role of the Original Hybrid. But did you know while filming once, he got so much into the character that it surprised his co-star. Yes! it’s true. Leah Pipes who played Cami revealed in an interview that while filming the second bar scene between Cami and Klaus in Season 1 Episode 18, Joseph got so much involved in the scene that he ended up kissing Leah on the mouth which surprised her.

The name Esther is taken from the Old Testament where a beautiful Jewish girl earns a favor from the king. The name Rebekah is also a biblical name, she is the wife of Isaac and mother of Jacob. Whereas the name Michel also comes from the Old Testament. And the name Finn could refer to the Nordic name which means ‘a man from Finland’ or it could refer to the Irish meaning for ‘fair’. The name Freya has Scandinavian roots which means beauty, fertility, and love. The name Elijah comes from the Hebrew which means ‘Yahweh is my God’. And Nicklaus (Nikklaus) and Kole (Kol) refer to the Slavic word which means the victory of the people.
