The CW/WB

Lauren Cohan played the character of the hunter Bela Talbot on the Supernatural. Even though her character lasted only for a season, but it had a significant impact. As the lead characters are men therefore it was a breath of fresh air when a female character got the best of the Winchester. The character of Bela was supposed to become a recurring villain, but after the addition of Ruby in Season 3, the plans changed. The writers gave her the spotlight and involved her in the scenes where she bested the Winchesters. However, this received plenty of backlash from the fans, the creator Eric Kripke admitted that they presented the character in the wrong fashion.

The CW/WB

Since Bela wasn’t directly related to the Winchesters or the storyline unlike Ruby. The writers were struggling with coming up with ideas to place her alongside the Winchesters. Their focus shifted to Ruby who’s a demon and it made sense for her to interact with the boys. Finally, they made the decision to kill off Bela. They presented a sympathetic backstory about her demonic deal to give her a touching send off.
