Hello Readers! Welcome back to Humor Nation. I guess the title is only giving you a lot of thoughts and it should because recently the UP BJP government has been changing the names of the cities, they are actually reverting the names to what they were initially. Now it’s turn for Agra?
Recently many cities have been renamed like Faizabad has been renamed as Ayodhya again, Allahabad as Prayagraj and Gurgaon as Gurugram.
Now there are swings all over the North side that BJP wants to rename Agra as Agravan as they think that the name Agra holds no meaning and earlier Agra was known as Agravan only.
Jagan Prasad Garg
At first, Agra was known as Agravan, then Akbarabad and then Agra, so Jagan Prasad Garg, who is a BJP MLA wants that Agra should get back its original name. Agravan actually means a place where there are lots of forests (“van” in Hindi) and also a place where lots of Agrawals are found. The MLA who wants to rename this city also claims that this city has a special mention in the story of Mahabharat and restoring such names are very ethical.
Currently, Jagan Prasad wrote a letter to UP CM Yogi Adityanath and requested in his letter to consider the name and when people got to learn about this thing they reacted in different and weird ways. Some are saying that the BJP has gone completely mad and has started a drama company all over again and are people are just tweeting to say that don’t do such stupidity and are using various hashtags to stop this. Even Ahmedabad is also going to be renamed as Karnavati as it was its older name and people are just demanding all over the country to stop UP CM to rename Agra as Agravan.
What do you guys think about this? Should Agra be renamed again as Agravan and should government approve such requests?
