LIE: Milkha Singh looked back in the 1960 Olympics race.

Truth: Milkha Singh did not look back during the 400m race at the 1960 Rome Olympics. Instead, he was never leading in the 400m final that time. He didn’t look back. He was fifth in line and with great efforts secured 4th position.

LIE: Subhash Chandra Bose died in a plane crash.

Truth: Subhash Chandra Bose did not die in an air plane crash. This truth has been suggested and verified by ‘The Mukherjee Report’ of 1999, the crash which happened in 1945, Subhash Chandra Bose didn’t die due to plane crash. There was no plane crash at that time. And no DNA analysis has been performed on the ashes to confirm the news.

LIE: “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” was quoted by Mahatma Gandhi.

Truth: Gandhi never said these words. This one-liner was actually said by Ben Kingsley in the movie- “Gandhi”. There is no statements recorded for these words to be spoken by Mahatma Gandhi.

LIE: Misha Bharti gave a lecture at Harvard University!

Truth: Lalu Prasad’s daughter did not give a lecture at Harvard. It was believed by the picture she posted as standing on a podium of Harvard that she has been invited to Harvard for lecture. Later, it was confirmed by the spokesperson of Harvard that Misa Bharti was not invited for such lecture.

LIE: India’s national sport is Hockey!

Truth: Hockey is not India’s national sport. It is been taught and read in general knowledge books of primary schools that India’s national game is Hockey, but actually it is not. In an RTI reply, the sports ministry confirmed that it has not declared any sport as the national game. Even the web portal of the government – www.india.gov.in, has posted an article calling Hockey as “India’s national sport”.

LIE: Varanasi is the oldest city in the world.

Truth: Varanasi (Banaras) is not the oldest city in the world. Varanasi has been called the oldest city in the world, but it is false news. Over 30 cities were inhabited before Varanasi in 1100 BC.

LIE: India has been a secular country since 1947!

Truth: The original Indian Constitution never had the term ‘secular’. It was added later in 1976, not in 1947. And our supreme court lies that India has been always a secular country.

LIE: India’s official language is Hindi!

Truth: India’s official language is not only Hindi. India has more than 20 official languages including Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, English, etc. The country promotes Hindi, but all states have their official languages.

LIE: Picture of Gandhi dancing with a lady.

Truth: Mahatma Gandhi never danced with any model in any party. It was an actor dressed as Gandhi and photographed at a party. The hoax went viral and we were again fooled.

LIE: The city of Ayodhya has existed since the Ramanyana!

Truth: Ayodhya has not existed since the age of Ramayana. The modern-day town of Ayodhya was set up by King Vikramaditya and it did not exist during the Ramayana. In fact, there is another town in Thailand by the name of Ayutthaya which holds a similar story to that to mythology.
