In math stream, IIT is one of the hardest exams in the world, an exam where more than 15-lakh students attempt the exam and only 10,000 students qualify it. The percentage of selection of student is less than 1% in the total amount. Some people are different from others who qualify IIT, but not satisfied with engineering only, and their passion and conditions sometimes make them leave IIT and do something different.

1. MUKESH AMBANI – MANAGING DIRECTOR OF RELIANCE
He focused on his family business, and that’s why he left IIT. He moved to Mumbai to pursue chemical engineering in ICT because of BRAND VALUE. Some other rumored reasons for him dropping the course is that his friends were also joining the same college. And that is why he left engineering.
2. NARAYAN MURTHY – CO-FOUNDER OF INFOSYS
As we see people leaving their present state because of their financial problems. Narayan Murthy is one of them who failed to study further in IIT as his family’s financial condition was really bad. They couldn’t afford IIT and that’s why they send him in NIE in his hometown. But later he completed his masters from IIT KANPUR.
3. RAHUL YADAV, FORMER CEO OF HOUSING DOT COM
He was the topper of 12th boards exam then after that he opted engineering and qualified and got IIT-B. But after enrollment his studies didn’t go well, as a reason he decided to drop from IIT in the final year.
4. KRSNA SOLO – MUSIC DIRECTOR
He cleared JEE in 1992, but due to lack of interest in engineering, Krsna dropped his plan and left IIT Roorkee to study film communication at NID. He is the person behind the hit songs of “TANU WEDS MANU” movie.
5. PRASHANT BHUSHAN – FAMOUS LAWYER, EX AAP MEMBER
He qualified for IIT and took admission in IIT MADRAS. But soon he dropped out in the very first days of his first semester. As he was home sick and was unable to live without his sister, he decided to go back and pursue Bachelor course in Philosophy, Economics, Political Science. He dropped again and cancelled this plan, and finally completed law from Allahabad University.
6. SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT – ACTOR
A renowned actor in today’s Bollywood industry. He got AIR- 7 in AIEEE which is not exactly IIT ,but similar to that exam in toughness. But later dropped out in the third year as he realized his passion towards acting and drama.
7. VINOD RAI – FORMER COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL OF INDIA
He too has cleared the most challenging engineering entrance exam, but never enrolled. He graduated with masters degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics. He is the man with detective mindset and is responsible for finding the big scams like Delhi Commonwealth Scam, 2G spectrum, Coalgate etc.
