Welcome back to Humor Nation. It all started with the Vampire Diaries, its success and popularity spawned two spin-offs titled ‘The Originals’ and ‘Legacies’. Both the spin-off shows are set in the TVD Universe and feature numerous characters from the Vampire Diaries. While Originals surpassed TVD in terms of critical acclaim due to its mature storylines and in depth characters. Legacies has failed to reach the heights of popularity as its predecessors did. While the Legacies expanded on the Supernatural lore, created refreshing storylines, there’s also a diversity of the characters with a completely different cast. Unlike TVD, which focused mostly on the love triangle and the brotherly love of the Salvatores, and the Originals, which focused mainly on the Mikaelson family. Legacies tried giving the fans a new perspective of the Supernatural world.

While Hope is the center of the show, but other characters such as Rafael, Landon, Saltzman twins get equal light to shine, the show is pretty light hearted as it mainly appeals to the teenager audiences. Compared to TVD and the Originals, Legacies also features plenty of humor, the episodes are entertaining, the one-liners from the show are definitely memorable. The show also featured plenty of callbacks and references to the Originals and TVD. Season 3 episode titled ‘Salvatore: The Musical’ was a homage to its predecessors. The characters from the show dressed up as Stefan, Damon, Elena, Klaus, and Caroline and paid tribute to their memorable romances and love stories. They also referenced the various storylines in the musical episode.
Speaking of the references and crossovers, the major crossover episode of TVD/Originals was Originals Season 3 Episode titled ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, Stefan Salvatore who is on a run from a hunter named Rayna Cruz seeks the help of Klaus Mikaelson. At first Klaus is reluctant, but due to Caroline, he agrees to help. Freya uses herbs to prevent the huntress from tracking Stefan. Meanwhile, Klaus and Elijah are held captive by the Strix who plan on unlinking the sireline and then kill them. Stefan tags along with Hayley and Marcel to protect the Mikaelsons. This episode also marked the last time Klaus and Stefan met as Stefan would later die when he sacrificed himself to save Mystic Falls and Klaus would sacrifice himself to end the spirit of Hollow.
Numerous other TVD characters such as Matt Donovan, Alaric Saltzman, and Caroline Forbes have also appeared in the Originals. Caroline appeared numerous times in Season 5. Alaric appeared in Season 4 when he crosses path with the Mikaelsons who has some important information about an artifact that could help them in defeating the Hollow.
