Welcome back to Humor Nation. Klaus and Elijah’s relationship has been extraordinary. Two brothers who made a pact to be together always and forever. They gave a new meaning to the ‘Always and Forever’. In the end, they died together at the hands of each other. The sole purpose of Elijah’s life was to protect his family, search for the redemption of his brother Klaus. If it weren’t for Elijah then Hayley and Hope would have never survived. He was the one who convinced Klaus to make the dream of having a family come true.
One thing that separates the Mikaelsons from the Salvatores is despite all their differences, Klaus and Elijah always had each others’ back. Even when Klaus killed Gia, the love of Elijah, and condemned Hayley and the Crescent pack to the wolf form. Elijah stood by Klaus and supported him in their fight against Dahlia. He would then part ways with Klaus after it. But when a new enemy in the form of the Martels and Lucien made their presence felt, Elijah turned to Klaus, they reconciled and joined forces to deal with their sired vampires.
Elijah’s biggest problem was too much heart and the eternal vow of Always and Forever which forced him to act in irrational ways at times. The Fall of the Mikaelsons prophecy could have been prevented, had Elijah not acted on the impulse and killed Marcel. But when he sensed a threat against his family, he didn’t care who it was, he acted on it. Even though Marcel was the same boy who was raised by the Mikaelsons, he fought alongside them, and considered them to be his family.
Despite all their love for one another, they also managed to hurt each other in the worst way possible. Elijah is responsible for the death of Tatia, the woman who Klaus loved, but she chose Elijah. He can also be partially blamed for the demise of Hayley which broke Klaus and Hope. Even though Elijah Mikaelson had his memories erased and wasn’t himself so he couldn’t recognize his own family. While Klaus is no innocent, he is responsible for the death of Gia, a woman who Elijah loved dearly. Klaus killed her only to get back at his brother for daggering him.
