The penultimate episode of Lucifer starts with Lucifer trying to persuading his siblings to side with him, he invites Jophiel to his penthouse, serves him the best vodka in the world. Jophiel tells him that he just cannot see him becoming the God. Lucifer realizes that it would be hard for him to convince his siblings to vote for him as Michael has done a smear campaigning of the Lucifer brand for eons. We also find out that it was Michael who tricked God in believing that he is losing his touch and he has no control over the powers.

Maze starts worrying that having a soul could have plenty of cons, she might enjoy the torturing anymore, and having a soul could also result in feeling guilt which means getting trapped in hell. Dan who got shot is rushed to the hospital. Lucifer, Chloe, and the gang wait in the lobby as doctors operate on Dan. Soon, a doctor comes out and informs them that Dan is no more. Everyone is devastated beyond grief, Trixie arrives and demands to see her dad, but Chloe stops her. Trixie fearing the worst has happened asks Lucifer to tell her that Dan is alive, knowing Lucifer would never lie.
Lucifer comforts the grieving Chloe, he tells her that his true motive for becoming the God is to become worthy for Chloe. Chloe is shocked to hear that. At Dan’s funeral, Amenadiel tells Lucifer that Dan is not in heaven. Lucifer is enraged to find out that Dan is in hell and Michael is the one who planned this entire ordeal.
