Dean Winchester after dying at the hands of Metatron in Season 9 finale woke up as a demon due to the mark of Cain. Sam Winchester manages to locate the whereabouts of Dean, he takes him back to the bunker where he tries curing him. But despite being cured of being a demon, the mark of Cain kept influencing Dean’s behavior. It turns him violent, the breaking point comes after the death of Charlie. He hunts down the Styne Family and slaughters them all.
