The show holds the record for being the longest running fantasy series in the American history. Eric Kripke created something special with the show, it took him nearly a decade to came up with the show. With the great storylines and amazing actors, SPN became a cultural phenomenon. The final episode ‘Carry On’ left the fans with teary eyes. But did you know the final episode has numerous callbacks and references to the pilot episode! How so? 3. STARTS & ENDS WITH WINCHESTERS

The pilot episode sees Sam Winchester studying at Stanford University where he is visited by his elder brother Dean Winchester. The brothers haven’t seen each other for nearly 2 years. Dean comes seeking the help of his brother to find their missing father who has gone on a ‘hunting trip’. Now both Sam and Dean have a strained relationship at this point because Sam left Dean & John to pursue a career of his own choice. Sam hesitates in assisting Dean, but Dean pleads which convinces him to help out his brother. They use their father’s journal and resources to continue with the case. Both the brothers bond while investigating the case of the Woman in White. By the end of the episode, Sam takes a complete 180 and returns back to the hunting life.

The finale episode ‘Carry On’ sees Sam and Dean at the bunker after defeating the big baddies and back to their normal usual cases. They end up into a town where they slowly progress their investigating, taking the help of their father’s journal. They learn that the monsters are vampires. Dean is mortally wounded at the hands of a vampires and bids goodbye to his brother Sam. Dean ends up in heaven where he meets Bobby who informs him about the changes made in heaven. Soon he is reunited with Sam and the two share a heartful hug. Supernatural ends with Sam and Dean looking over at the railing.

2. THE WARDROBE

The finale episode involved a very noticeable reference to the pilot episode. It’s none other than the wardrobe of the Winchesters. Both Sam and Dean could be seen wearing the same clothes they wore in the pilot episode. Many fans with a good observation took cognizance of this. Another similarity is the brothers reunite on a bridge which appears to be same bridge which they came across in the pilot episode. Not just Sam and Dean, there’s another character who is present in the first and last episode, it’s none other than BABY! The boys began their epic journey in their dad’s Impala and in the end, the Impala is right there to accompany Dean in the heaven.
