Welcome back to Humor Nation. The name of an episode is pretty significant because it gives us an idea about the general theme of the episode. Many names forecast what events are more likely to happen in an episode, whether it could be the death of a major character, or the fury of a villain, or maybe the redemption of a character. Often times the name of an episode could be a popular quote from a character. Sometimes the writers choose a pop culture reference such as the quote from a popular movie or book, or lyrics or name of a song as the episode title. Therefore the name of an episode becomes pretty significant.
Take for example, the name of the first episode of the Originals from Season 1. Even though there was a backdoor pilot of the Originals that aired in the fourth season of the Vampire Diaries. But Season first’s episode sets a good tone for the viewers who are not familiar with the Vampire Diaries and have been just introduced to the Mikaelson. Therefore the perfect name for the episode would be ‘Always and Forever’ that not only introduces us to the Mikaelson Family through their backstory, but also familiarizes us with their eternal vow of Always and Forever that has resonated throughout the show.
There are numerous episode titles of the Originals which fit perfectly with the storyline of the episode. Take for example the title of Season 3 titled ‘The Bloody Crown’, the episode features Marcel Gerard who has returned from the dead and has become an Upgraded Original Vampire. He decides it is time for the Mikaelsons to pay for their crimes. The Mikaelson Family who were to be blamed for the deaths of Cami and Davina in a way because of their association.
Marcel ends up biting Kol and Elijah when they square off, leaving Klaus with no choice, but to stand a trial, or he’ll be hunted. Klaus stands the trial where all his crimes against the innocents are listed and he is ultimately staked with the Papa Tunde’s Blade. Freya manages to cast a spell that links the lives of her siblings with Klaus while placing them in a Chamber De Chasse. As Marcel causes the fall of the Mikaelsons, he ends up becoming the only king and ruler of the New Orleans.
