Welcome back to Humor Nation. After having a one night stand with the Hybrid Klaus, Hayley Marshall got pregnant. This was a miracle, a loophole purposely allowed by the nature which resulted in the birth of Hope Mikaelson. Klaus who had lifted up the Hybrid Curse and became the first Original Hybrid which allowed him to procreate and he was able to conceive Hope with Hayley. Hayley didn’t know about her pregnancy, but when she walked right into the New Orleans witches, they devise a ploy to use her to attain their means.

When Elijah learned this information from the witches, he thought this unborn child could become the redemption of Klaus. Klaus was uninterested in having the child or saving Hayley from the witches, but Elijah influenced him, and he agreed to protect the mother and child. With time, his attachment grew with the child. He made it perfectly clear that he doesn’t want to use Hope for some ulterior motives, he wants to protect her. This is why after defeating the witches who came after Hope, he believed it would be best to send Hope away from New Orleans so his enemies cannot harm her. Rebekah took the custody of Hope while Klaus and family vowed to make New Orleans safe from all sorts of threats.
But the arrival of a resurrected Esther forced Rebekah to reunite with Klaus, bringing back Hope to her parents. Esther wanted to kill Hope because of the fear of Dahlia. His sister Dahlia would also arrive to claim Hope as a part of the deal she made with Esther which resulted in the conception of the Mikaelson siblings. Season 3 would see the prophecy coming true and the Mikaelsons falling due to Marcel. Only Hayley is left behind who is tasked with curing and reviving the Mikaelson siblings. Klaus asks Hayley to look after Hope while he makes the sacrifice of being trapped and continuously suffering at the hands of Marcel in his dungeon.
Klaus is reunited with Hope after a gap of 5 years, he tries to bond with his daughter. But their reunion is cut short when the spirit of Hollow arrives to wreck havoc in New Orleans.
