And Klaus has gone berserk due to the dark magic of Hollow, he is on a killing spree. He is tracked down by Caroline Forbes who tries to keep her in check, but he has lost his way due to the absence of Elijah, and he believes that Hope is doing better without him being by her side.
Freya and Vincent have developed a strong friendship in the span of seven years and they along with Hayley and Josh are ensuring that peace prevails in the city of New Orleans. Meanwhile, tension escalates when a hybrid turned by Hope ends up killing a vampire. A faction led by Greta Sienna demands that Henry should be punished by death. Elijah who left New Orleans after having his memories erased comes across a woman named Antoinette who teaches him again what it’s like to be a vampire. They both develop a relationship. Klaus comes looking for Elijah and asks him to return with him, but Elijah refuses and hurts him through his words.
Greta is the widow of the man who was once killed by Klaus. She says that she had kidnapped Hayley and would return her back if Hope suppresses her werewolf side. Klaus comes to the rescue of Hayley, but Elijah overpowers Caroline and prevents Klaus for saving Hayley. Hayley who had her werewolf side suppressed sacrificed herself to take down Greta. Klaus would retaliate by biting Antoinette while the Mikaelson siblings would be trapped in Chambre de Chasse where Elijah would regain his memories.
