Hello Readers! Welcome back to Humor Nation. If you look at the storyline of Season 8, it could be easily divided into four chapters that focuses on different villains and plot lines. The first chapter ranges from 1-7 episodes focuses on the Siren Sybil who has been freed and has enslaved Damon and Enzo as we saw in the S7 finale. She works for the devil known as the Arcadius, the deal is that Seline and Sybil will prepare souls for him. Damon had his memories tampered resulting in him reverting to his old ways. He makes a deal with Cade along with Stefan that the brothers would take the place of the Siren sisters and would provide for the souls.
The second chapter is short, lasting for five episodes. Sybil reveals to Caroline that her plan was to collect the parts of the Founders Bell which is powerful enough to not only kill the Sirens, but rip a hole in the Cade’s territory. The bell could also release the hellfire. But the thing is that the bell could be rung only by someone who belongs to the Maxwell bloodline. Matt who was compelled by Stefan rang the bell 11 times, but was stopped and this allowed Cade to kill the Siren sisters. He also demanded Damon to either bring him 100 souls or kill Caroline. He gave the same assignment to Stefan with the exception that he must kill Elena or 100 other people. Stefan who had his humanity turned off ends up killing Enzo, this causes Bonnie to inject him with the cure to protect herself.
The third chapter saw the return of Kai who promises Damon and Alaric that he will help them in disposing of Cade. Meanwhile, Stefan who has become human deals with the guilt of his actions. Kai betrays Damon and takes away the body of Elena along with the blade that could kill Cade. He then tries killing the Saltzman twins, but Caroline prevents it. Bonnie banishes Kai to a new Prison World. But Kai could depart, he reveals that it was Katherine behind it all and she is coming back.
The final chapter saw Katherine retuning and her using Vicki for ringing the bell which causes the hellfire to be released, it would destroy Mystic Falls. But Bennett witches stops the hellfire.
