He was born in Mumbai in 1964 to Anil Chandra Shah, a successful businessman. He went to Mehsana, Gujrat for his schooling and he was interested in RSS since childhood. Amit Shah first met Narendra Modi in 1982 when he was the propagator of youth activities and later in 1983, while he was in college Shah joined RSS as a volunteer and the student body Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP) as a leader. He is also the president of the Gujrat Cricket Association.

2. After RSS life and relation with the Bhartiya Janata Party:

In the year 1986, Shah joined the Bhartiya Janata Party and the next year, he became the activist of the youth-wing Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha(BJYM). Later in the year 1991, he campaigned for LK Advani in Gandhinagar during the Lok Sabha elections. He also campaigned for Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the Lok Sabha elections of 1996. He became MLA from BJP in the year 1997 and he was also the youngest minister in Gujrat’s Modi government during 2002.

Amit Shah was considered a close aide to Narendra Modi since starting. Once, during the election of the 1990s, Shah was sitting with Modi in a small restaurant near Ahmedabad railway station told him – “Narendrabhai, get ready to become Prime Minister of India.” During 1995, BJP formed the first govt. in Gujrat, but the Congress was still a very strong party in Gujarat and for this Modi and Shah worked together to remove Modi and Shah from all the major cities and bring BJP to power.
