3. FALLEN IDOLS
Supernatural Episode ‘Fallen Idols’ feature a special appearance from Paris Hilton. The episode references the film titled ‘House of Wax’ which starred Paris Hilton. Interestingly, Jared Padalecki also appeared in it alongside Paris. The Pagan deity Leshi has taken the form of Paris Hilton in the episode. There is a scene in which Dean tells Leshi that it cannot devour him as he is not a fan of Paris and has not seen the movie ‘House of Wax’.
2. FAN FICTION
When the Winchesters arrive at a school to investigate the disappearance of a teacher, they are surprised to see the students of the school are organizing a musical which is based on the lives of the Winchesters. This meta episode features several instances where the fourth wall is broken.
When Dean is talking with the members of the musical, he tells them how it is okay to have different personal versions or interpretations of the show. This is what makes Supernatural interesting. This also addresses the fandom who often get into a conflict regarding the interpretations of the characters and the storylines.
There’s also a scene where Dean expresses his annoyance following a talk about ‘Destiel’. Jensen’s character looks directly at the camera which makes the scene so entertaining. The episode also mentions several fan pairings and ship names which nobody saw coming.
1. THE FRENCH MISTAKE
Sam and Dean are transported to an alternate universe by the angel Balthazar in order to protect both of them from Raphael and his followers. The brothers arrive in a world where they discover that they are not hunters, but actors named Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, and Castiel is a character who is played by Misha Collins.
- There’s a scene where the actor Misha Collins comes across Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki who assume him to be the angel Castiel. Then Misha can be seen tweeting throughout the episode. Interestingly, the tweets made by the actor are real and can be seen on the Internet.
- The episode features a special appearance from Genevieve Cortese who played Ruby in Season 4. But this time, she plays herself, the wife of the actor Jared Padalecki. The show broke the fourth wall by acknowledging the marriage of Jared & Genevieve.
- The episode also features footage from Jensen’s early work on Day of Our Lives. Jensen played the role of Eric Brady on the show.
