They are popular stars now who have plenty of opportunities and projects right now. It was recently announced that Paul Wesley joined the cast of Titans where he would be played the main character of Jason Blood. Nina Dobrev is rocking the Netflix with her hit movies such as ‘Love Hard’ which has been featured in the top 10 on Netflix. But all these actors tasted their first great major success with Vampire Diaries. You’d be surprised to know that there was a time when these major stars struggled to bag a role, they auditioned for numerous projects, but were shown the door.

4 JOSEPH MORGAN – HARRY POTTER (TOM RIDDLE)
It would be nearly impossible to imagine some other actor playing the role of Klaus Mikaelson. Joseph Morgan brought a unique style, charisma, and swagger to the character. He made the character equally terrifying and menacing. We all know Klaus’ character was not supposed to last long, but the actor’s performance forced the showrunners to extend its arc. But did you know that Joseph Morgan’s very first professional acting audition was for the role of Tom Riddle in the film ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’. The role eventually went to Christian Coulson who played the young version of Lord Voldemort known as the Tom Riddle who meets his end when Harry stabs the Voldemort Diary with the Basilisk Fang. Later we learn that the Diary was one of the Horcruxes which were destroyed by Harry Potter.
3. IAN SOMERHALDER – TRUE BLOOD (JASON STACKHOUSE)
Ian Somerhalder has a close connection with the Vampires. He rose to fame with the Vampire Diaries where he played Damon Salvatore. Ian Somerhalder quickly became a fan favorite with his Damon’s character even though Damon was an antagonist at first, but Ian’s charisma managed to get the character over with the fans. The actor would star in a series called ‘V-Wars’ which premiered on Netflix, set in a world where a virus is turning humans into vampires. But did you know before he was a lead on TVD, he wanted to be featured on another Vampire show called ‘True Blood’. The actor auditioned for the role of the vampire Jason Stackhouse, but he couldn’t convince the showrunners that he’s the right person for the role. Eventually, Ryan Kwanten ended up bagging the role. He was really disappointed when he didn’t get the role, but when TVD opportunity presented itself, he was convinced that this role is meant for him.
