Welcome back to Humor Nation. Riverdale is a TV adaptation of the Archie comics, a modern macabre take on the popular comic and its characters. Archie and the gang dealing with all sorts of different mysteries, fighting serial killers and crime lords. When the show started, the gang was in the high school and now they have all graduated, beginning their adult lives. Riverdale is a town where bad things can happen to the good people, the teenagers can easily lose their way and get caught up in the chaos. Therefore it becomes extremely important that the parents are doing a right job of guiding and protect their kids.

Well, of course, the parents in Riverdale are just as exceptional as their children. The characters are a reflection of their parents and it became quite evident when we saw the young versions of their parents in the flashback episode. Even though most of the Riverdale parents are either serial killers or crime leaders or drug lords, but despite of all their wrongdoings, most of them have done a decent job of giving their kids the right care. During the initial seasons, we saw Penelope as an absentee mom who put her needs before the wellbeing of her daughter Cheryl. But despite of all her flaws, she came through for Cheryl when it needed the most.
Alice Cooper is another Riverdale mom who the fans hated as first because of her controlling and dominating nature. But as the show progressed, we got to see that every decision of hers had Betty’s best interests at heart. Perhaps, the best mom on the show is Mary Andrews, even though we got to see her character much later in the series, but it’s pretty evident that she is a loving mother and most importantly a ‘normal’ parent which is hard to find in Riverdale.
