3. CLAIRE HOLT (‘UNTITLED HORROR MOVIE’ & BEING A MOTHER)
Like Phoebe Tonkin, Claire Holt too gained worldwide popularity due to her role in H20 Just Add Water as Emma Gilbert. She has also been a part of hit shows such as Pretty Little Liars, but majority of the fans will always remember her as Rebekah Mikaleson. Since the end of Originals, Claire has been part of the 2019 released film ‘A Violent Separation’ which reviewed decent reviews and the 2021 pandemic midst released film ‘Untitled Horror Movie’ which is very unique because it was shot entirely remotely. The actors themselves were responsible for the camera, lighting, and their makeup without any assistance. Since the Originals, Claire has only appeared in the TVD spin-off ‘Legacies’ reprising the role of Rebekah in two episodes. She has dedicated her time and energy towards her family and being a mother. Claire’s son was born in 2019 and she gave birth to a baby girl in 2020. In 2019, Claire acquired the American citizenship through her hard work.
2. RILEY VOELKEL (TV SHOWS – HIGHTOWN, CHICAGO MED, ROSWELL NEW MEXICO)
Riley Voelkel joined the cast of the Originals a season late, but her impact in the TVD Universe is nothing short of significant. She came to LA to try her hands at modeling, but ended up becoming an actor. Riley started her career with a small role in the 2010 hit film ‘ The Social Network’. She would appear in films such as Hiden Moon, Prom, and shows such as Mentalist and Glee. Her first big role came in ‘Newsroom’ where she played the recurring role of Jenna and appeared in 15 episodes. In 2013, she joined AHS’s third season and appeared in three episodes. But her career’s biggest role came when she was cast in the recurring role of Freya Mikaelson. Since the conclusion of Originals, Riley has been part of several TV shows where she is either playing a regular character or appearing in the recurring role. Her work since Originals includes ‘Hightown’, ‘Roswell, New Mexico’, and ‘Chicago Med’.
1. DANIEL GILLIES (VIRGIN RIVER)
Daniel Gillies’ portrayal of Elijah Mikaelson is the heart of the Originals. If there was no Elijah, there would be no Originals. While the story of Daniel is nothing short of inspiring, he had to work as a waiter at one point to support his acting career. After moving to USA< she landed up a small role in big Hollywood films such as Spider Man 2 and Bride & Prejudice which made him a familiar face across the globe. Before landing up the role of Elijah Mikaelson, he worked in shows such as True Blood, Glades, and NCIS. Since the conclusion of the Originals, Daniel has been only worked in the show titled ‘Virgin River’ where he plays the recurring role of Mark, the deceased husband of Melinda Monroe.
