Perhaps you’re trying out for the lead in the school play or think you’ll be getting a promotion. at work – if you talk about it out loud then the next step is to automatically knock on the nearest wooden surface. Now how could knocking on a piece of wood possibly help you out? Well it doesn’t. It just pretty much mind over matter and it’s just something you can do to make yourself feel better.
