Stefan Salvatore’s journey on the Vampire Diaries began as a man who is completely opposite to the villainous brother Damon Salvatore. He was the tortured hero at the beginning. But as the character progressed through the series, more about his personality and hidden past were revealed to the fans. Many elements about him were revealed which were far crueler and darker than the people around Stefan and he himself could believe.
