3. THE FAILED AUDITIONS
We cannot imagine some other actors playing the role of our beloved characters. Can you imagine someone other than Ian as Damon or someone other than Joseph Morgan as Klaus? Their performances have cemented their place in the TVD history. But did you know that Joseph Morgan once auditioned for the role of Tom Riddle AKA Voldemort. He had read the books and wanted to be a part of the Harry Potter movies. Imagine if he had become Lord Voldemort, we would never have the Original Hybrid Klaus Mikaelson.
Also, Nina Dobrev blew her first TVD audition, the actress Asheel Simpson was the studio’s front runner for the role of Elena Gilbert. Not just Ashlee Simpson, Ashley Tisdale was also offered the lead role of Elena Gilbert, but the actress turned it down for another show on CW. Ian Somerhalder badly wanted the role of Jason Stackhouse on True Blood, he auditioned for the role, but couldn’t convince the creators that he was the right choice. Well, everything happens for a reason, imagine if he had been cast on True Blood, we wouldn’t get the Damon Salvatore that we have now.
2. THE SUPERNATURAL CAST
The cast of TVD and Originals is extremely talented, it’s no wonder that they are bound to find success outside the TVD Universe. Did you know that the actor Nathan Parsons who played Jackson, a werewolf on Originals, was cast as a vampire on True Blood. The actor Nathaniel Buzolic who played the role of Kol Mikaelson also appeared in an episode of the Supernatural. He isn’t the only actor to appear on Supernatural.
Lauren Cohan who played Rose on TVD played the significant role of Bela Talbot on Supernatural. And Sebastian Roche, Papa Mikaelson, was an angel named Balthazar on Supernatural. Candice Accola who played Caroline appeared in a flashback on Supernatural. Phoebe Tonkin who played Hayley in TVD Universe has also played a witch named Faye in The Secret Circle and a mermaid in H20: Just Add Water, along with Claire Holt.
1. FRIENDSHIPS, ROMANCES, & MARRIAGES
The cast is like a family now, with the time they spent together on the shows, they have become really close. But did you know there was a time when Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev didn’t get along during the initial filming of the TVD, even though they played lovers on the screen, their off-screen interaction wasn’t really warm. However, with the time spent together, they developed a good understanding of each other and are besties now. Numerous co-stars dated each other while filming the show.
Ian-Nina got into a relationship, but it didn’t work out, being the professionals they are, they didn’t let real life issues affect their on-screen chemistry. Paul Wesley AKA Stefan married Dr. Meredith Fell AKA Torrey DeVitto, but the couple would get divorced. Paul would then get into a relationship with Phoebe Tonkin AKA Hayley Marshall. And finally, Joseph Morgan AKA Klaus Mikaelson ended up marrying Persia White who played Abbey Wilson, mother of Bonnie on TVD. He became the step-father to Persia’s daughter Jamaica.
