3. WRITING OFF CAMI
The character of Cami played a major part in the redemption of Klaus. He saw Klaus for who he truly was, never felt scared in calling him out. She was selfless and truly saw a light in Klaus. Even Klaus admitted that the goodness in him has been inspired by Cami. First the writers turned her into a vampire, a compassionate and kind woman became a paranoid vampire who caused plenty of chaos. She stole the only thing that could harm Klaus, the person she loved. After becoming a vampire, she acted too out of her character even without turning off her humanity. Vampirism heightens the emotions, but in her case it totally contrasted her personality.
Many fans on the internet were mad at her relationship with Klaus that they went to the extent of abusing and threatening the actress Leah Pipes. Some believe this is the reason why Leah Pipes decided to leave the show after getting fed up of the online hatred. Ultimately, her character was written off.
2. DISSERVICE TO HAYLEY
Season 5 of the Originals is considered to the worst and lowest rated season. The final season did a disservice to many characters especially Hayley Marshall. A strong woman, a caring and responsible mother, and a queen of the alphas. She had fought the toughest opponents and been through hell, and yet her character was eliminated off suddenly. First she lost her husband Jackson then the entire Mikaelson family fell apart due to Hollow. She deserved a better ending with Elijah which was entirely possible. Even when she met Elijah (with no memories) in France, they shared a profound connection, and could have easily fell in love once again. But instead of making Haylijah the endgame, the writers wrote her off, and the blame went on Elijah who had to live with the guilt that he is responsible for the demise of his love.
1. THE ORIGINALS SHOULD HAVE ENDED AT SEASON 4
Season 4 might not be a wholesome perfect season, but at least it ended on a good note. The Season 5 did nothing new except used the same repeating storylines. Characters such as Marcel and Vincent didn’t get much content. The main villain Hollow has been treated as a non-conscious entity now. With Rebekah taking cure, Kol would be last Original Vampire left. Why did Hope take back Hollow? And wouldn’t Hollow be released again when Klaus ended himself as he’s not a Labonair. Let’s be honest, Season 5 was nothing more than a backdoor to the Legacies. The writers had nothing new to offer, ending the beloved characters for shock value and because they had nothing further to offer them.
Season 4 could have been the perfect and beautiful end to the Originals. Kol finding the freedom from his dysfunctional family and gets to spend a happy life with Davina, Marcel and Rebekah are finally together. Elijah no longer has to carry the burden of his family and could live for his own…for once. Let’s be honest, Klaus might not have Elijah by his side to keep him in check, but his experiences with Cami and Hope surely must have made him a different person. So he would have done just fine on his own. Hayley would do a great job of raising Hope in a relatively normal setting which she did before during the fall of the Mikaelsons.
