Welcome back to Humor Nation. A spin-off of the iconic Vampire Diaries which revolves around the Mikaelson Siblings and is set in the city of the New Orleans. The Mikaelson Family is known as the Originals in the TVD because of being the first ever vampires and the progenitors of the entire vampire race. While the show is set in the same universe as the Vampire Diaries and features several characters whom we first saw on TVD, but it’s entirely different in its format. The story of the Originals start when a werewolf named Hayley whom he saw in Season 4 of TVD gets pregnant with the child of Klaus. The Mikaelson Family returns to New Orleans which they were forced to leave behind in 1919 when Mikael came hunting them.

5. THE MIKAELSONS ARE THE GOOD GUYS
As the Originals focuses on the Mikaelson Family, it’s pretty natural to believe the Mikaelsons are the good guys. They are the protagonists of this spin-off. But it couldn’t be further from the truth. Sure, the story is told from the Mikaelsons perspective. The Mikaelsons narrative is the most prominent one on the show. But if you really think from the other characters’ perspective, you’ll find out that Klaus and company is anything, but the good guys. The family barged in New Orleans and tried taking away the city from Marcel who was running things smoothly. During the Marcel’s reign, there’s an order and no innocent has to die, but once Klaus takes things under his control, it results in only chaos. Then when the Trinity arrived in New Orleans, all the three first sired vampires were labelled as the big bad villains. But if you consider everything, again the Mikaelsons should be blamed. Elijah compelled the Trinity to be on the run from Mikael while pretending to be the Mikaelson Siblings. Over the course of five seasons, all Mikaelsons have killed numerous innocents in the name of ‘Family’.
4. THE ORIGINALS ARE THE MOST POWERFUL
A lot of people believe that the Mikaelsons AKA Originals are the most powerful beings on the planet. But this is not true. Sure, at some point they were the most powerful beings, but in the Originals, we have seen several characters who easily overpowered the Mikaelsons. After becoming the Upgraded Original, Marcel even surpassed Klaus Mikaelson. His bite almost killed Elijah and Kol. Not just Marcel, numerous witches easily overpowered the Mikaelson siblings at times. Dahlia single handedly was at the verge of wiping out the entire Mikaelson Family and only held back due to her love for Esther. Hollow killed Elijah easily and in the end, it took the sacrifice of Klaus to finally defeat her.
