It was none other than Lucifer’s twin brother, Michael, who also served as the villain of the S5. In Season 4 finale, Lucifer made a selfless act of making his return to hell for eternity instead of staying with his love, Chloe Decker. His sacrifice earned him praise from all of his siblings in heaven. All this praise made his brother Michael jealous of him, he decided to ruin Lucifer’s life, and hence he arrived on the earth.

He started posing as Lucifer since they both look alike. He saved Chloe during a shootout. Mazikeen thinking that he’s Lucifer attacks him for leaving her behind, but he tells her the truth, and ropes her in the plan. Mazikeen feelings betrayed assists him in ruining the life of Lucifer. Michael starts manipulating Chloe and plans to sleep with her. But the smart detective feeling something is off, she suspects that he is not the real Lucifer, and confirms her suspicion by shooting Michael in the leg.
Amenadiel who comes to find out about the arrival of Michael on earth visits Hell to inform his brother Lucifer about the wrongdoings. Lucifer makes his return on Earth to fix the mess of Michael, but his manipulative brother has already done the damage. He tricked Chloe in believing that she is only made for Lucifer by god, he tricked Dan in seeing the devil face of Lucifer, and then convinced him to shoot Lucifer. He is a master manipulator, he even psychologically torments his brother Amenadiel using Charlie.
