Alaina Huffman played the role of the Knight of Hell Abaddon and made her debut in Season 8 of the show. Her character was important because it helped in progressing the story as Dean acquired the Mark of Cain to put an end to the Knight of Hell. However, there’s an interesting story behind the auditioning process of the actress. The actress revealed that when she got the email for the audition. Her first reaction was “Is that Show Still On?” Because she was curious if she demographically fit for the show then why didn’t she read for the show. As there have been eight seasons of a CW show and she didn’t audition anytime before then. Her audition involve being her character being shot, stabbed, and its head of the character getting chopped off, all in one. It was ridiculous, but she was like ‘Whatever’. She wanted to have fun and ended up getting the role.

Misha came in and auditioned for Eric Kripke. He revealed in an interview that he originally auditioned for the role of a demon. Misha did a tremendous job for the demon as he came all prepared. But then he was told that it’s actually the role of an angel. They wanted to keep it secret and not let anybody know about the existence of the angels on the show. So he was asked to do it again, but this time do it like an angel. The actor’s all preparation flew out of the window and he said the words with a blank expression. Luckily, that’s exactly what they were looking for and he ended up with the part.

Osric Chau got a Supernatural audition call on the day when he was supposed to leave to go to LA for an audition for a JJ Abrams project. He was a struggling actor who was working day to day, and therefore he decided to change his flight to make it to the audition. The actor ended up spending nearly $800 dollars that week just to make it to both the auditions. Luckily, he ended up getting both the roles. Due to the conflict in the schedules, he had to choose one. After careful thinking between being a regular on a show and a guest role on Supernatural where his character might get written off after a couple of episodes. He turned down Supernatural, but as fate would have it, he ended up appearing on Supernatural which earned him global fame whereas the JJ Abrams project never materialized beyond the pilot.
