1. THE HEAVEN THEORY
There’s an interesting heaven theory on Reddit which makes all the sense in the world. So in the finale episode, we saw Dean arriving in heaven where he comes across Bobby who tells him about all the changes Jack had made along with Castiel. Bobby offers him a drink, Dean is almost happy except one thing which is missing Sam. Bobby tells him that he will be along as time moves differently in heaven. He asks him what he is going to do now? Dean sees the Impala and says that he will go for a drive. He just drives aimlessly without even going to visit his parents or Castiel. The answer to this could be found in Season 5 Episode ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ where Sam and Dean are shot by some hunters and they end up in heaven. Dean finds himself in Impala with the memory of Sam and the fireworks, but Sam is gone. Dean hears Castiel on the radio who tells him that it’s his heaven, he sees a road instead of a tunnel, he needs to follow the road to find Sam.
Now all this makes perfect sense in Supernatural finale episode when Dean finds himself in heaven. After having a chat with Bobby, he realizes that he’s missing Sam. He finds his Impala in front of him. He probably remembers about his first visit to heaven and the advice of Castiel. And that’s why he just keeps driving on the road in front of him which leads him to the bridge where he finds Sam. Dean is waiting for Sam on the bridge which is why he’s not surprised when Sam shows up behind him a few moments later. So the first and final heaven trip of Dean is well spent on him finding a way to his beloved Sammy.
Dean didn’t spend a moment with his loved ones or to see his deceased friends such as Ash, Jo, and numerous other acquaintances. He just went straight to driving, what do you make of it? What do you guys think about this interesting theory? Do you think this Dean’s heavenly visit is somehow to his first trip to heaven? Also, are you satisfied with the way Supernatural ended?
