5. KLAROLINE SHOWED UP ACROSS THREE SHOWS
Klaus and Caroline have appeared all across the three shows; Vampire Diaries, Originals, and Legacies. Vampire Diaries is the place where they first met, bonded, and their romance blossomed. Klaus wanted to show Caroline all that the world has to offer, he showed his art to her, and even gave Tyler his freedom only for Caroline Forbes. But fate forced Klaus to move to New Orleans after learning about Hope Mikaelson. Whereas Caroline would find love in the form of Stefan Salvatore who would become his husband, but she lost her husband within a day of their marriage. In the Originals, Klaus struggled trying redeeming himself while keeping together his family and protecting his daughter. Caroline and Klaus would cross paths again in the Originals Season 5 which was a delight to the Klaroline shippers. The pair appeared shared numerous scenes together in Season 5. In Legacies, both the characters were teased and referenced several times, but they would eventually make their appearance in flesh (or soul) in the bittersweet finale episode of the Legacies.

Well, the fans would trade their souls to have these two end up together, but Plec had other plans for the characters. But she at least gave the viewers a tease of what it could have been like, had they been together. In an episode of Legacies, an alternate reality is shown where Hope is never born as a result of the wish of Lizzie. And in this world, Klaus and Caroline are branded as the ‘enemies’ who lead the reins of the Supernatural community in their war against the humans. In a newspaper which listed Klaus and Caroline as fugitives who are at large, Caroline’s last name is written as ‘Mikaelson’.
