3. BIRTHPLACE OF ORIGINALS
After the ‘death’ of Freya due to plague, Esther & Mikael along with their family moved from Norway to a magical land which provides strength and qualities to its inhabitants. This magical land would become famously known as Mystic Falls. This is the place where Esther cast the modified immortality spell to create the Original Vampires. After losing Henrik, she turned her children into the Originals from which all the vampire race originated. Another interesting fact is that the Mystic Falls High was built right over the land which was once an Indian village, the same place where Originals were born.
2. NEWS MEDIA
Over the course of TVD, several types of medias have been featured. These includes TV Channels, newspapers, radio stations. There are two local newspapers in Mystic Falls which are titled ‘The Mystic Falls Daily’ which reported the deaths of Brooke and Darren. Another newspaper is Mystic Falls Courier which started in 1897. When it comes to News Channels, the two TV channels are WPKW9 where Logan Fell and Andie Star worked as news reporters. This channel reported the deaths of Darren Malloy and Brooke Fenton who were mauled by an animal. In reality it was Damon Salvatore who killed them. Another News Channel is WYET 9 where Caroline Forbes worked as a journalist.
1. MYSTIC FALLS
When the show first started airing, there was a website of the town on MysticFallsva.com. The web address now redirects to CW, but it’s archived version can still be accessed. The website featured photos and several information about lodging. Another interesting fact that you must have noticed that the TVD Characters while using the Internet uses the Search Engine BING. Even though Google is the most popular and widely used Search Engine for decades now. Apparently, there was a deal with BING which resulted in the studio preferring BING over Google in the episodes. TVD was shot in Georgia. Hundreds of TVD fans visit the tour of the sets. Mystic Grill is a place where our favorite characters grab the bite. The popularity of the spot resulted in Mystic Grill opening for real in Georgia. To this day, numerous fans visit the sets which has now been declared as a heritage and culturally significant site, and is open for the fans to visit.
