The anime has been developed by the popular and acclaimed Japanese Production House known as Madhouse. The anime has a total of 22 episodes that encompass the story arc of the show’s first two seasons. At the same time, the anime is based on the story and characters of Supernatural, a show created by Eric Kripke and his team. Before there was Chuck, before there was Lucifer, there was Azazel. The yellow-eyed demon served as the main antagonist of the first two seasons of the TV show. It’s undeniable that he served as a menacing and terrifying villain. The anime series also features Azazel as its main villain. However, there is one significant change here. Azazel, the yellow-eyed demon had a demon origin. He was once a human soul who was corrupted by Lucifer himself. In the show, we know that the Princes of Hell; Dagon, Ramiel, Azazel, and Asmodeus were the demons created after the birth of Lilith. Azazel served as the general of Lucifer’s demonic army and stayed loyal to him even when all other Princes left Lucifer’s side after his captivity. In anime, Azazel was once an angel who belonged to heaven, but after falling from the good graces, he ended up becoming a demon.

Did you know that Jared Padalecki voiced the character of Sam Winchester for the English version of the anime? Unfortunately, due to his busy work schedule and issue with dates, Jensen Ackles couldn’t do the voice-over for the first twenty episodes of the series. He has voiced the final two episodes of the series. In place of Jensen, Andrew Farrar has voiced the character of Dean Winchester in the remaining episodes. While the mannerisms, and personalities are exactly like the TV show version of the character. There’s a little change in the appearance of Dean’s character, his hair is shown to be black in a couple of episodes of the anime.
