Famine is one of the four Horseman of the Apocalypse. The Horsemen were triggered after the release of Lucifer from the cage. Famine was assisted by the demons to satisfy his hunger for souls which helped in restoring his strength. He makes the presence in the episode ‘My B Valentine’ where his effects became pretty evident. The Winchesters start investigating the issue. The effect of Famine causes Castiel to become hungry for red meat. Sam becomes craving for the demon blood. While Dean remains unaffected. While all that makes sense, but there are certain plot holes with this idea. How come Castiel’s vessel Jimmy Novak become hungry for red meat even though the soul of Jimmy has been long gone and ascended to heaven then what made Castiel’s vessel crave the red meat? The reason Dean didn’t feel any urges or hunger, as explained by Famine is because his soul was depressed.

5. BREAKING LUCIFER FREE

The main storyline of Season 4 of Supernatural was to prevent Lucifer from escaping the captivity in hell. Castiel and the Winchesters tried stopping the seals of the cage from being broken whereas Lilith and the demons worked to free their masters. After the 66 seals were broken, Lucifer walked free. However, in Season 5 finale Sam overpowered the devil and managed to cage him again with the help of the four Horsemen rings. Fast forward to Season 11, Lucifer is able to break free again with the help of the witch Rowena. Rowena didn’t need to break the 66 seals to free Lucifer. This begs the question, why didn’t Lilith and the loyal demons take the help of a powerful witch to break Lucifer out of the cage without the hassle of breaking the seals?
