6. THE NAME ‘WINCHESTER’
Originally, the last name of Sam and Dean was going to be ‘Harrison’, but due to legal purposes, they changed it to Winchester. According to Eric Kripke, the name Winchester was chosen because of the iconic 19the century gun and rifle company named Winchester. As the brothers hunt the monsters and bad guys, they use guns regularly so it kinda fits. Another reason for choosing the name Winchester was because of the popular ‘Winchester Mystery House’ which is a haunted tourist attraction located in San Jose. As the show deals with Supernatural and paranormal elements, such connection to a haunted house is interesting.

5. ACTORS WHO PLAYED ‘SAM’ & ‘DEAN’
While for almost everyone of us, the names ‘Sam’ and ‘Dean’ Winchester are synonymous with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. We can never some other actor in those roles. But you’d be surprised to know that 8 actors have played the role of Dean on the show including Jensen. And 5 actors have played the character of Sam Winchester on the show including Jared.
