5. TATIA’S HUSBAND
As you well know that the doppelgangers were born to restore the balance. After Silas & Amara became immortal, Nature created their shadow selves who’d die in their plaace. So the first Petrova doppelganger was Tatia who was around the time of Mikaelson time period when they were humans. It was her blood which was used in the Immortality spell to create the Originals. Tatia was a widow with a child, when she came across the Mikaelsons, Elijah and Klaus fell for her.
The theory is that Tatia’s husband was a Silas doppelganger! As we well know that Doppelgangers are destined to find each other someway and it’s their fate to fall in love with each other. While the popular belief is that the Petrova Doppelgangers are born at every 500-year period, but if you believe Qetsiyah, she said that century after century, she witnessed the versions of Stefan & Elena find each other. So it’s very likely that Tatia’s husband could have been a Silas doppelganger. Even if the husband wasn’t a doppelganger, it is likely that Tatia had crossed paths with a Silas doppelganger.

4. TOM WAS SUPPOSED TO END UP WITH ELENA
Even if you discard the previous theory highlighting the time difference as Stefan and Katherine were 300 years apart. Katherine became a vampire which allowed her to exist in the 19th Century. She came across Stefan and fell in love with him. Katherine turning Stefan into a vampire set a chain of events that changed everything. In Season 5, we were introduced to the last Salvatore Doppelganger, Tom Avery. Tom worked as a paramedic who was supposed to end up with Elena, as both Elena & Tom were the 21st Century doppelgangers. There was also a foreshadowing as Tom worked as a paramedic and Elena eventually became a doctor. Had things played out normally, they would have made a perfect match.
The Doppelgangers which are the shadow versions of Silas & Amara are born at every century. Katherine who was born in 15th century should have met the 15th century Silas doppelganger whereas Stefan who was born in 19th century should have crossed paths with the Amara doppelganger of his respective time. But vampirism changed everything, Katherine ran into Stefan, and Stefan ran into Elena.
