As the fans very well know all the three shows have been created by Julie Plec. Plec is the one responsible for launching the Vampire Diaries Universe into the Stratosphere. She co-created TVD with Kevin Williamson who left the show after Season 2. Julie would then go on to create Originals and the Legacies. She wrapped up Originals when she felt it was the right time. When it came to Legacies, it was the CW Network which decided not to renew the show for a next season. Julie Plec talked about the Legacies ending and expressed how it was not the ending they expected, but the plans changed. It was the Network’s decision which forced them to come up with a different ending. She talked about how it makes her feel proud to be a part of such an iconic franchise, but the decision to put the franchise on ‘Pause’ is somewhat irritating.

Plec also talked about the future of the franchise. Even though nothing is set in concrete yet, but she is having conversations about taking the franchise to the next phase.
