Annie Wersching is best known for her voice role of ‘Tess’ in the popular game ‘The Last of Us’, the actress has also portrayed the character of Emma Whitmore in the TV show ‘Timeless’, the role of Lily Salvatore in ‘Vampire Diaries’, and Renee Walker in ’24’. Born and raised in Missouri, Annie was part of a dancers ground, and she graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre. She began her acting career with television roles, appearing on various popular shows of the time such as Charmed, Angel, Supernatural, and Cold Case. In 2007, she joined the cast of the General Hospital as Amelia. Along with television, Annie also participated in theater productions.

Annie would become a part of the PS3 video game ‘The Last of Us’ in 2012 in the voice and motion capture for the character Tess. Since the conclusion of Vampire Diaries, the actress was part of the show ‘Rookie’ as Rosalind in a recurring role. In 2022, she joined the CBS show ‘Star Trek: Picard’ in the recurring role of Borg Queen. At some point in 2020, the actress was diagnosed with cancer. Annie kept working despite her illness. On 29 January 2023, the actress passed away tragically at the young age of 45. Annie is survived by her husband and three children.

Annie portrayed the role of Lily Salvatore in the Vampire Diaries who was presumed to have died, but was trapped in the prison world. She returns along with a group of Hybrid (Vampire-Witches) known as the Heretics who cause all sorts of chaos in Mystic Falls. Her plan was to bring back Julia, her lover, to life. But when Julian forces her to choose between him and her children. Lily decides to stake herself and asks for forgiveness from Damon in her final moments.

HER CO-STARS PAID A TRIBUTE TO THE ACTRESS 

Paul Wesley who played Stefan Salvatore wrote how deeply saddened he is to learn the passing of Annie. He called her a very wonderful and talented person, and considers himself lucky to have known her. Julie Plec, the creator of TVD, said how she was a fan of Annie in 24 and considers herself lucky to be able to work with Annie on Vampire Diaries. Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural in which Annie appeared as Susan Thompson in the episode ‘Playthings’, was looking forward to cast Annie in his show ‘The Boys’, and says it was a regret to not get a chance to work with the actress again.
