This town is pretty notorious for its Supernatural history and numerous significant events have taken place here. There’s something in its land that made it a hub for all kinds of supernatural activities. Vampire Diaries follows the story of a teenager named Elena Gilbert who recently became orphaned after suffering the tragic loss of parents in an accident. A mysterious handsome guy arrives in her school and she falls in love with him. Things get interesting when he turns out to be a century old vampire named Stefan Salvatore. Their blossoming love story becomes complicated when Stefan’s older brother Damon who is also a vampire returns to the town and decides to cause chaos. His purpose of arrival is to save his love Katherine who is trapped in a tomb.

We learn that Katherine and Elena are doppelgangers. The Salvatores first fell in love with Katherine and she’s the one who turned them into the vampires. Both the brothers loved her with all their heart. And now history is repeating itself, when the brothers have fallen in love with Elena Gilbert. Damon holds a grudge against Stefan for making him complete the vampire transition and the fact that Katherine chose him. However, as the show progresses, the brothers get over their conflict and develop a healthy relationship again.
The ancient vampires known as the Originals made their debut in the Second Season of TVD. A vampire named Rose introduced us to the Originals and told how terrifying they are. Klaus Mikaelson has been in search of Katherine for centuries as he needed her to break a curse that has suppressed his werewolf side. Klaus manages to break free of the curse using Elena. In third season, other Mikaelson siblings also make their debut on the show. Both the shows are good in their unique ways. While the Mikaelsons got more backstory in the Originals as it was their story. Characters like Finn and Kol which didn’t get justice on TVD got a good character development on the Originals. New additions such as Marcel, Cami, Davina, brought a new flavor to the show. One main difference between the two shows is that TVD is centered at the young audiences whereas Originals aimed at the mature audience.
