The Originals turned out to be even more successful as the critics praised it for its mature story-lines. The focus was on the Mikaelson family who returned to the city of New Orleans to reclaim their city. The show featured more mature and adult themed story-lines compared to TVD which mostly revolved around teenage drama. Klaus Mikaelson who found out that he’s a father now and his character undergoes a drastic development to become a better father for his child Hope. We also get to see the family dynamics coming into play. The dysfunctional family who despite all their issues, possesses a deep love for each other, and stand together when a challenge threatens them.

There have been numerous amazing love stories and relationships in TO. But perhaps, the most epic story was of Elijah and Hayley. Hayley who became pregnant with the child of Klaus in TVD. Elijah decides to take care of her and protect her as this unborn child could be the redemption of their family. Elijah initially tried suppressing his feelings for Hayley as she was the mother of Klaus’ child, but even Hayley felt the same. There was a time when it felt like these two would be together, but fate had different plans. Elijah had his memories erased and he didn’t realize his love for Hayley until it became too late.
Another amazing love story was that of Rebekah and Marcel. They were in love with each other for centuries, but Klaus made it hard for them to be together.
